As 2025 draws to a close, Vectis RFC is celebrating a week of exceptional news, individual achievements, and inspirational experiences for the club family. From the Bath Rugby Academy to Twickenham Stadium, it has been a week to remember.

Academy Success: Josh Joins Bath Rugby

The club is thrilled to announce fantastic news for our U15s squad. Huge congratulations go to Josh, who has been accepted onto the Bath Rugby Academy U15 Foundation Programme.
This selection is a brilliant achievement and a true reflection of Josh’s hard work, commitment, and dedication to his game.

County Honours: Billy G and Hampshire U18s

Once again, Billy G represented the club at the county level, earning a place in the Hampshire RFU U18 starting XV.

Billy travelled to Dartford Valley RFC this Sunday for a tough fixture away against Kent Rugby. It was a successful outing for the county side, with Hampshire U18s taking the win in their fixture. Congratulations to Billy on continuing to perform at this high level.

Big Game 17 at Twickenham

Some members of the club travelled to the home of English rugby, Twickenham, to watch Big Game 17, featuring a double-header with Harlequins vs. Bristol Bears.

Both the women’s and men’s matches provided a spectacle that inspired our young players, giving them a thirst for more rugby action. The trip had an added local surprise on the journey home, as the club spotted main sponsors Wightlink advertising Vectis RFC on their onboard screens.

From our youngest players taking their first steps in rugby, to our older age groups giving it their all every weekend – they have all made this year something special.

A huge thank you to every player who pulled on a Vectis shirt, to the parents and carers who supported from the sidelines and made the early starts possible, and to our incredible coaches and volunteers who give up their time week in, week out. This club simply wouldn’t exist without you.

We’re so proud to be a youth-only club, providing rugby opportunities for young people aged 5–18 here on the Isle of Wight – and 2025 has been a year to remember.
